Our Collective Vision

Kū pākū ka pali o Nihoa i ka makani

The cliffs of Nihoa stand strongly against the wind.
(Pukui, `Olelo No`eau #1924)

We call Nihoa into this space as "traditionally Nihoa has come to stand for “one who bravely faces misfortune."  Throughout history, and as we face the COVID-19 pandemic, Hawaiʻi, like the pali of Nihoa, can stand together to wield community resilience as a strength against adversity. Founded on principles of aloha with relationships and connections at its core, we believe that it is together - steadfast, unwavering, and in solidarity - that we are able to navigate these times of uncertainty. We also believe in the power of ʻike - knowledge - as a foundation for building this strength to holomua.
